ShiftPay is an offline-first shift calendar and paycheck estimator for hourly workers in the U.S. Log the shifts you work — by hand, from a template, from a repeating rotation, or by importing a photo of the posted schedule — and the app works out what those hours should be worth, overtime and unpaid breaks included, then compares that estimate against the pay stub you actually received. Data is local first, with optional private iCloud sync; there is no account to create.

It helps enormously if you include your device model, OS version, the ShiftPay version from Settings, and what you expected to see versus what you saw. Please don't send screenshots that show other people's names or wages.

Frequently asked

Where is my data stored? Can you see it?

By default, your employers, shifts, wage rates, tips, pay stubs, and comparisons are written to ShiftPay's private storage on your device. If you explicitly enable private iCloud sync, Apple also stores them in your private CloudKit database under your Apple Account so your devices can stay current. There is no ShiftPay account or developer-operated record server, and the developer cannot browse that private database. Schedule photos are scanned on-device with Apple's Vision framework and the image is discarded once you confirm the import.

We cannot recover records for you. If sync is off and the device is lost or the app is deleted, use your own device backup. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

I paid for Pro but it isn't showing — how do I restore it?

Open Settings in ShiftPay and tap Restore purchases (the same button appears at the bottom of the upgrade screen). Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase, and that you have a network connection — restoring asks the App Store, not us.

Pro follows your Apple Account, so a new device gets it back the same way. If a restore still comes back empty, email us with the date of purchase and we will help you work out what happened. Billing questions and refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com. To cancel, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I delete everything?

In ShiftPay, open Settings and tap Delete all data, then confirm. That erases every employer, shift, rotation, template, pay stub, and saved comparison from the active store and removes local recovery copies on the device. When private iCloud sync is active, those deletions also propagate to your private CloudKit database. It is permanent — there is no undo or backup on our side, so export or screenshot anything you want to keep first. Turning sync off or deleting the app removes the local copy but does not by itself erase a previous CloudKit copy; enable sync and use Delete all data first if you want synced records removed.

Turning the analytics toggle off stops future collection. Because analytics records use anonymous installation identifiers and no ShiftPay account exists, we may not be able to locate an individual installation's past records for deletion.

My estimate doesn't match my pay stub.

That is often the app doing its job — but check the usual causes first: the wage rate and any differentials on the job, whether breaks are set as paid or unpaid, the overtime rule selected for your state, and whether your pay period's start day matches your employer's. ShiftPay's figures are estimates built from what you entered, not payroll, and they are not legal or tax advice. If a real gap remains, your pay stub and your employer are the authority.
